Desired Candidate profile
- Certification: CPC / COC / CCS (AAPC or AHIMA) — mandatory
- Minimum 3 years in medical coding, with at least 2 years in Anesthesia Coding
- Strong knowledge of ASA guidelines, concurrency, modifiers and time-based unit calculations
- Good understanding of facility and professional fee coding workflows
- Proficiency in EHR and coding platforms (Epic, Meditech, Cerner)
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and communication skills
Job Responsibilities
- Review and assign accurate CPT, ASA, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS codes for anesthesia procedures
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with CMS, ASA and payer-specific guidelines
- Perform self-audits and support internal quality reviews
- Handle complex cases and provide feedback or clarifications to the team
- Stay updated with coding and regulatory changes and apply them in daily work
- Adhere to HIPAA and company data security policies
